culture moves europe
This is a selection of works I made in Saviore dell'Adamello during a two-week journey which was financially supported by the Culture Moves Europe mobility programme for artists in April 2025. My focus followed two threads: the drawing part and the sewing one. Through the drawings I wanted to carry further something from the atmosphere of this village in Lombardia, surrounded by mountains and situated right above Valcamonica, or The Valley of Signs, as it is also called. Many rocks found in this valley carry traces left by prehistorical people who inhabited the area. These traces are carved signs which give us clues about our ancestors' way of living, but also about how they view themselves in the world. Part of the drawing series is the result of asking myself: "If I had to communicate something about my life to a prehistorical human being, how would I do that?"
The second thread was... a jacket. This piece of clothing I wore for more than 10 years and still do. My aim was to turn it into a wearable metaphor: quiet on the outside, singing on the inside. The other aim was to repair it.
